Dietrich Joins The Adams Group As Account Manager

June 2007 - Columbia-based strategic marketing firm The Adams Group welcomes Kevin Dietrich as an account manager. Dietrich brings nearly 20 years experience as a journalist, public relations professional and political communications specialist.

He spent nearly 15 years working in daily newspapers, including eight years as a business journalist, with publications in California, Florida, New Hampshire, Maine and South Carolina. Most recently, he's helped market one of the Southeast's largest law firms and served as a speechwriter to South Carolina Governor Mark Sanford.

Dietrich also assists with the agency's business development efforts. The San Luis Obispo, Calif., native holds a degree in journalism from the University of Maine.

Award-winning Creative Director Joins The Adams Group

April 2007 - The Adams Group welcomes creative director Mike Scardino, whose resume reads like a who's who of the nation's top advertising firms.

Scardino, who joined the firm in March, has worked on some of the most well-known ad campaigns in the country including Radio Shack, Canon Cameras, Saab, Quaker foods and the Ad Council's national drunk driving initiative. His work at agencies such as J. Walter Thompson, Chiat/Day and Ally & Gargano has earned every major industry award from a Cannes Gold Lion to several Clios and a spot in the Smithsonian's advertising archives.

Mike's exceptional career includes healthcare expertise with Siemens, Eckerd Pharmacy, Blue Cross Blue Shield of Tennessee and Memorial Health in Savannah, Ga. Not to mention his days as a New York City ambulance driver. The Vanderbilt University graduate and former infantry platoon leader hails from Bayside (Queens), NY.

The Adams Group Welcomes Chandler

April 2007 - Angel Chandler has joined the agency as receptionist. The Columbia native and A.C. Flora graduate has extensive training in customer service and working with print media companies. Angel also helped lead member relations efforts at The Windemere Club. After hours, the sports enthusiast serves as a youth counselor and softball coach.

The Adams Group and SAMC honored with Addys

Two integrated marketing campaigns created for Southeast Alabama Medical Center were recently honored at the Southeast Alabama Advertising Federation's annual Addy competition. Campaigns for da Vinci Prostate Surgery and the SAMC Women's Center were awarded a combined three Gold Addys and one silver Addy.

The Adams Group was recently awarded six of the highest awards for regional healthcare advertising presented by the Carolinas Healthcare Public Relations and Marketing Society (CHPRMS).

The agency took Wallie Awards for its television and radio advertising campaigns for Onslow Memorial Hospital in Jacksonville, NC; print campaign for Abbeville Area Medical Center in Abbeville, SC; and the annual report for Kershaw County Medical Center in Camden, SC. In addition, the agency was awarded two Silver Tusk awards recognizing public relations efforts for Onslow Memorial Hospital and Kershaw County Medical Center.

While we're pleased our healthcare work has been recognized for a sixth consecutive year, we're especially grateful for our clients who continue to entrust us with their strategic marketing communications programs.

The Adams Group Adds to Staff


The Adams Group account services team is growing. The agency recently named two additions to the account management team.

Chris Adams, a University of South Carolina graduate, has been named assistant account manager. We've also named Lanford Stone, a senior at The University of South Carolina majoring in advertising/public relations, as account coordinator.

Strategic planner Joseph Bruce has joined our staff as director of client services. Bruce has worked with high-profile brands such as Crest, Pampers, Scope and Charmin at widely-respected agencies in New York, NY, and Baltimore, MD. His extensive healthcare background includes work for Johns Hopkins Medicine and Children's National Medical Center as well as the Pharmaceutical Research and Manufacturers of America (PhRMA).

Siemens Medical Solutions Selects The Adams Group


The Adams Group was recently chosen by Siemens Medical Solutions CT Marketing Division to launch marketing and advertising resources for hospitals purchasing Siemens' new dual source 64-slice CT scanner. We proudly announce that Debra Branson has joined The Adams Group as account manager. In her 15 years as a communications professional, Debra has helped more than 30 hospitals solve problems and increase awareness. Armed with a BA from Samford University in Birmingham, AL, she also started and expanded a business magazine for South Carolina physicians. Whether the challenge is reaching patients in a saturated market or bolstering physician referrals, Debra's expertise and experience helps her isolate issues and find solutions. We're glad to have her on our team.

Lake Norman Regional Medical Center recently tapped The Adams Group to provide the hospital’s strategic marketing, advertising and public relations services. Adesso Groundbreaking and Website Launch


Our client Holder Properties of Atlanta is changing the downtown Columbia landscape with a six-story development of luxury condominiums and retail stores adjacent to the USC campus.

Holder Properties chose The Adams Group to develop an identity, branding and advertising for the condominium project. Given the name, Adesso (Italian for “now”), the development is the keystone of a downtown urban revival.

Southeast Alabama Medical Center Launches Campaign to Promote New da Vinci Surgical System


For Southeast Alabama Medical Center, a 400-bed regional referral center in Dothan, AL, we helped launch and promote the facility’s new da Vinci surgical system. We used the campaign to enhance the medical center’s surgical reputation and to educate physicians and the public of the inherent benefits of this minimally invasive surgery system.

We used a combination of print, television, outdoor, direct mail, interactive and PR that featured everyday objects to illustrate the da Vinci’s benefits and bring a warm personal touch to an otherwise cold, complex subject.

Alabama Hospital Selects The Adams Group


We were honored to recently be named agency of record for Southeast Alabama Medical Center (SAMC) in Dothan, AL. A 345-bed acute care hospital, SAMC serves the 750,000 residents in the neighboring communities and counties of Southeast Alabama, Southwest Georgia and the Florida Panhandle. In addition to providing comprehensive medical, surgical, and emergency care, the hospital operates freestanding facilities for surgery and outpatient physical rehabilitation.

Bon Secours Heart Institute CD-ROM Wins Top Honors at Virginia Healthcare Public Relations and Marketing Society’s Prism Awards and the National PRSA Awards


CRT/tanaka partnered with The Adams Group’s Interactive Team to produce a CD-ROM marketing campaign to promote Bon Secours Heart Institute’s open heart services to the referring physician community. The CD-ROM won top honors in its category at the Virginia Healthcare Public Relations and Marketing Society’s annual Prism Awards. It also won a Bronze Anvil Award at the National PRSA Awards.

Boston Scientific CD-ROM Toolkit Helps Spread the Word About Peripheral Artery Disease


By 2020, as many as 14 million Americans may have peripheral artery disease. Building awareness of the symptoms and risks of PAD is critical to detecting and treating this disease early.

The Adams Group worked with Boston Scientific to create an enhanced toolkit on CD-ROM to help their clients educate both their patient and referring physician communities. The CD-ROM contains educational resources, ready-to-use brochures, ads, posters, press releases and a plethora of tools for building and maintaining patient and physician relationships.
